9 – 10:15am YANG and YIN Yoga

YANG and YIN YogaA Soothing Antidote for Your Active Lifestyle

On Sunday, July 28, our yoga practice will focus on both strengthening YANG and lengthening YIN asanas.

We’ll first move through an active standing sequence…think Warrior I, Goddess, and Tree; stronger poses that are dynamic and physical.

During the second half of class we become more meditative and move closer to the earth…think passive, deep and lengthening stretches coupled with meditative breath.

This combination of both Yang and Yin movement results in balanced energy and the beneficial (and necessary!) combination of both strength and flexibility.

Pre-registration not required for YANG and YIN Yoga, but it’s helpful to know if you plan to attend.

About Jeanne Startzman

Jeanne of Yoga Spring Asana will be leading us in this breath-centered Yin yoga class, which incorporates more relaxing floor postures. Yin Yoga is a great way to take some rest with your yoga at the end of the month. Class size is kept small for full benefit and are attended by 4 – 10 students, on average.

For private sessions, Jeanne encourages student reflection and participation. She will discuss and outline the poses with the student, that will enrich the student’s physical wellness and promote a quiet mind.
