TUESDAY: Shinrin-yoku or Leaning on a Tree from 1 PM – 2:15 PM (Please click for more info!)
June 7, 2016 @ 6:00 am - 7:15 am
Shinrin-yoku is a Japanese term meaning “forest bathing”. It refers to spending time in nature for rejuvenation and health. Read this article for more information:
For our meetup, we will meet at the trailhead and walk for 5 to 10 minutes to an area that is out of the way and has lots of trees to lean on or lie close to. Each of us will pick a tree and will lean on it or lie next to it for the next hour, communing with the trees, the woods and Mother Earth in silence. We’ll be connecting with nature’s energy in our own way. If you want to bring a blanket to sit on at the base of the tree or lie on so that you are shielded from the cold earth or any ground wetness, that’s a good idea. Another blanket to put over you and a natural insect repellant might be a good idea, too.
Why am I hosting this meetup? Because my clients/friends and I have been feeling disconnected from Mother Earth during the winter months and this is a way to reconnect in community. I think we all could use a good lean on a tree right about now. This will be our third month doing this, and it’s been awesome so far!
This meetup is FREE! This meetup will happen if 3 people, beside myself, sign up before the deadline of June 6th. If less than 4 total sign up, it will be cancelled. So please email us at this link [email protected] and tell us you’re coming! Or sign up on the Meetup.com site “Daylight Healing Center Edmonds Meditation, Yoga and Reiki“.
Thank you and I hope to see you at the trailhead!
